Bob Dandridge

Bob Dandridge is one of the most accomplished and versatile players in basketball history, celebrated for his scoring ability, defensive skill, and championship pedigree. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Dandridge played college basketball at Norfolk State University, where he earned All-American honors before being selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1969 NBA Draft. He quickly became a cornerstone of the franchise, forming a legendary trio with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.

Dandridge played a pivotal role in leading the Bucks to the 1971 NBA Championship, earning NBA Finals MVP honors for his outstanding performance. A four-time NBA All-Star, he was known for his smooth scoring touch and ability to defend multiple positions, consistently delivering in high-pressure moments throughout his 13-year NBA career.

He later won a second NBA championship with the Washington Bullets in 1978. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021, Dandridge’s induction into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame honors a player whose excellence helped bring the state its first NBA title and whose legacy remains a defining part of Wisconsin sports history.
