Inducted in 2017

Charles Woodson is one of the most accomplished and versatile defensive players in the history of the Green Bay Packers and the National Football League. A native of Fremont, Ohio, Woodson entered the NFL as a highly decorated collegiate star from the University of Michigan, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1997. He joined the Packers as a free agent in 2006, bringing leadership, experience, and elite playmaking ability to Green Bay’s defense.

During his seven seasons with the Packers (2006–2012), Woodson redefined the defensive back position with his ability to excel at both cornerback and safety. He was a key leader of the Packers’ defense during their Super Bowl XLV championship season, earning NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2009 and recording countless game-changing plays throughout his tenure. A multiple-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection in Green Bay, Woodson’s football intelligence, toughness, and instincts made him one of the most respected defenders of his era.
