John Boie, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was a key member of the Team USA wheelchair men’s basketball teams that won a gold medal in Paris in 2024. Boie also helped the American team win the gold medal at the 2023 Parapan American Games in Chile and has a gold medal from his Paralympic Games debut in Tokyo in 2021. 

His other hardware includes a silver medal from the 2018 world championships, a gold from the 2022 world championships and a gold from the 2019 Parapan games. 

Boie learned the game playing on multiple Wisconsin-based wheelchair basketball teams over the past 20 years, including the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks — one of the premier college wheelchair basketball programs in the nation for men and women. UW-Whitewater captured three national championships during his collegiate career.
